Worth the wait

Waiting isn’t easy. Even now, I don’t feel like I’m waiting for anything specific, but looking back, I can see just how powerful waiting has been in shaping me.

I think about when I was waiting for a God-ordained spouse. While I waited, God wasn’t idle, He was actively working in me. He delivered me from lust. He strengthened my confidence. He taught me wisdom and discernment. He showed me how to be intentional with my time, how to prioritize growth, and how to make choices that aligned with His purpose. My children benefited, One Foodie Mama was born, and even in moments I couldn’t fathom, God was preparing something beautiful.

Waiting taught me that it’s not about asking “why”… it’s about asking what. What do I need to focus on? What lesson do You want me to learn? What can I do in this season to grow? Waiting isn’t meant to create anxiety or frustration; it’s meant to cultivate patience, joy, and trust.

Even if you’re not actively waiting right now, there will be seasons where you must. The key isn’t rushing, forcing, or worrying, it’s waiting patiently, serving God in the meantime, and trusting that something great is coming. Waiting isn’t wasted time; it’s preparation. It’s growth. It’s the quiet shaping of your heart, mind, and life in ways you may not even recognize until the moment arrives.

So if you’re in a season of waiting, lean into it. Ask God what you need to learn. Let Him work in you. Grow in confidence, wisdom, and intentionality. And when the season of waiting is over, you’ll not only be ready for what’s to come, you’ll be better, stronger, and more aligned with the life God has called you to live.
