Don’t Cancel What You Prayed For

There was something different about this day and it had nothing to do with the food.

Well… maybe a little. But mostly, it was God.

Recently, I’ve been praying for alignment.

Not just opportunities, but people.

I’ve been asking God to connect me with the right women. Women who are intentional. Women who are growing. Women who are building, healing, becoming. Because as I step into this space of food, lifestyle, and pouring into others because I understand that I can’t do it alone.

And then… I meet her.

Not through years of friendship.

Not through mutual connections.

But at a simple networking event.

We exchanged numbers, made plans, and the next thing you know, we’re sitting across from each other, sharing a meal, having real conversation… and it felt natural. It felt easy.

It felt aligned.

And I had this moment where I realized:

This is what I prayed for.

When God Answers… It Won’t Always Feel Familiar

Sometimes we think God’s answers are going to come wrapped in comfort, through people we already know, situations that feel predictable, or spaces where we feel completely secure.

But that’s not always how He moves.

Sometimes the answer looks like:

  • a new face

  • an unexpected invite

  • a conversation you almost didn’t have

And if you’re not careful… you’ll miss it.

Or worse...you’ll cancel it.

⚠️ Don’t Let Fear Override Faith

I could’ve easily:

  • not exchanged numbers

  • kept it surface-level

  • talked myself out of showing up

You know that voice:

“What if it’s awkward?”

“What if we don’t click?”

“What if I’m doing too much?”

That’s the same voice that keeps us stuck.

A lot of times, we pray for expansion…

But when it comes, we shrink.

We call it “being cautious” or “taking our time,”

but sometimes?

It’s just fear dressed up in wisdom.

👑 You Asked for This—Now Walk In It

That moment reminded me of something important:

When you ask God for something, you have to be ready to receive it.

Not question it.

Not over analyze it.

Not disqualify yourself from it.

Receive it.

Even if it feels new.

Even if it stretches you.

Even if you’re still figuring things out.

🌱 This Is Bigger Than a Lunch Date

Yes, the restaurant was beautiful.

Yes, the food was amazing.

But the real highlight? Divine connection.

Sitting across from someone who felt like she belonged in a space I’m just beginning to build… that meant more than anything on the menu.

And it reminded me:

God is intentional.

He knows what you need.

He knows who you need.

And He knows when to send them.

💬 Final Thought

If you’ve been praying for:

  • community

  • connection

  • growth

  • alignment

Don’t cancel it when it shows up in a way you didn’t expect.

Say yes.

Show up.

Lean in.

Because what feels unfamiliar today…might be exactly what you prayed for yesterday.
