Some places simply serve food. Others create an experience. From the moment I walked into Tous Les Jours in Artesia, I knew this café was the latter.
Fun fact: Tous Les Jours translates to "every day," a fitting name for a bakery that proudly bakes its bread fresh every single day. That commitment to freshness is reflected throughout the entire café and is one of the many details that makes this place feel so intentional.
I visited on a Thursday around 2:15 p.m.looking for a place to relax, enjoy a treat, and get a little work done. As soon as I walked through the doors, I felt as though I had been transported to Paris. While I've never been to France, the elegant gold and white décor, French-inspired details, and soft jazz playing throughout the café created an atmosphere that felt peaceful, inviting, and effortlessly classy.
One of my favorite parts of the experience was the self-serve bakery. Guests grab a white tray upon entering and browse an incredible selection of pastries before heading to the register. Whether you're craving something sweet or savory, Tous Les Jours has an impressive variety of croissants, danishes, breads, cookies, macarons, muffins, donuts, pies, tarts, and cakes sold by the slice or whole. Honestly, narrowing down my choices was the hardest part of the visit.
After asking for a recommendation, I ordered the Honey Lavender Matcha and a chocolate muffin for $11.00. The recommendation was spot on. The matcha was smooth with the perfect balance of earthy tea, honey, and lavender. It wasn't overly sweet, allowing each flavor to shine through. The chocolate muffin was incredibly soft with a rich chocolate center that made for a delicious surprise.
What impressed me most was the value. I actually spent less here than I did at another coffee shop earlier in the week, yet received a much more complete experience. Between the quality of the food and drink, the relaxing atmosphere, and the thoughtful presentation, every dollar felt well spent.
Another detail I appreciated was how carefully everything was presented. Many of the fresh pastries were individually wrapped and sealed with elegant gold labels, creating both a polished appearance and an added level of cleanliness. Other specialty pastries were displayed behind glass, adding to the elevated feel of the café.
Whether you're looking for a quiet place to study, work remotely, catch up with a friend, enjoy a solo coffee break, or plan an intentional coffee date, Tous Les Jours creates the kind of environment that invites you to slow down and stay awhile. I chose to sit on the patio where it was quiet and peaceful, making it the perfect place to enjoy the afternoon.
One Foodie Mama Recommendation: If you're searching for a café that delivers on atmosphere, quality, and value, Tous Les Jours is well worth the visit. It's one of those places that doesn't have to try too hard to impress because every detail works together to create an experience you'll want to come back for.
I'll definitely be returning, and next time, I'm bringing a much bigger appetite.
