Eggspresso- Fullerton Ca

I'll be honest, when I first pulled up to Eggspresso, I wasn't immediately sold.

Located in an industrial/business area of Fullerton, it isn't the type of place that instantly catches your attention from the outside. In fact, if it weren't for the photos I saw on Yelp, I probably would have driven right past it. The pictures gave me enough confidence to give it a try, and I'm glad I did because my expectations ended up being completely exceeded.

The restaurant itself is small but comfortable. It never felt cramped, and there was plenty of covered outdoor seating available for anyone wanting to enjoy the California sunshine. I ended up choosing a quiet corner inside where I could relax and enjoy my meal. The atmosphere was clean, the music selection was enjoyable, and the family owned feel was noticeable from the moment I walked in.

Parking is ticketed, but don't make the same mistake I did, get your ticket validated. Eggspresso offers two hours of validation, and although I arrived just before paid parking started, I skipped validation and still ended up paying $10.

For my meal, I ordered the Pork Belly Rice Bowl, a lavender latte, a bottled Coke, and a Fiji water. My total came to $33.45.

Calysta helped me place my order and recommended the Pork Belly Rice Bowl, explaining that it was one of their most popular dishes. After trying it, I completely understood why.

The pork belly was perfectly crispy with a texture reminiscent of bacon, but even better. What impressed me most was that it wasn't over-seasoned. The bowl was layered with brown rice, pickled onions, avocado, arugula, and pesto—a combination I wasn't expecting but thoroughly enjoyed.

The pesto was the element that brought everything together. It brightened the dish and added a fresh, vibrant flavor that balanced the richness of the pork belly beautifully. There was also a subtle hint of heat somewhere in the bowl that kept every bite interesting.

As someone who had just finished a workout and hadn't eaten yet, this was exactly the meal I needed. It was satisfying without feeling heavy, fresh without being boring, and flavorful without trying too hard. My only wish was for a little more avocado, but that's coming from a self-proclaimed avocado lover.

A special shoutout to Jen, who brought my food, cleared my table, and shared some insight into the business. Those personal touches always elevate an experience.

Eggspresso may not have won me over from the parking lot, but it certainly won me over by the time I left. If you’re looking for a cute spot to visit with flavorful food, Eggspresso is a place you must try.
