Sometimes, the most meaningful moments come when you simply show up for yourself. About a year ago, I was exploring my singleness after my divorce, learning to enjoy my own presence, and my second solo dining experience became a small but powerful milestone.
I chose to sit on the patio at The 908, soaking in the sun and the gentle California breeze. There was no rush, no agenda, just me, my thoughts, and the joy of being fully present. I ordered the Lamb Burger and started with Calamari for an appetizer, a perfect combination of comfort and sophistication. The Calamari, with its delicate seasoning and cherry pepper accents, paired beautifully with the crispy, golden textures. The lamb burger was hearty, flavorful, and exactly what I needed to feel nourished in both body and spirit.
What struck me most wasn’t just the food. It was the quiet confidence I felt sitting there alone, appreciating my own company and the world around me. This meal reminded me that enjoying yourself doesn’t need validation from anyone else. Whether it’s a solo lunch, a coffee at a new café, or a peaceful moment on your patio, pouring into yourself is an act of self-love that grows your confidence, joy, and sense of purpose.
Dining at The 908 wasn’t just about a great meal, it was about savoring my own presence, intentionally creating moments of joy, and embracing the beauty of solitude.
