After years of working alongside renowned chefs and experiencing the fast-paced world of the culinary industry, they discovered something important:

One of the things that stood out to me while speaking with Danny was the passion she has for what she's built. She wasn't simply overseeing operations from a distance. She was greeting guests, checking on tables, helping behind the counter, making food, and ensuring everything ran smoothly. It was clear that Ubuntu isn't just a business, it's something she genuinely cares about.
When an owner is that invested in their establishment, it shows.

Here’s What I Ordered
Bagel & Lox 🥯
My first savory selection was the Bagel & Lox, made with Scottish salmon, house-cultured cream cheese, capers, onions, and cucumbers.
The balance of creamy, salty, fresh, and crunchy made every bite enjoyable.
One detail I especially appreciated was that the bagel wasn't toasted to the point of becoming hard or dry. It allowed the ingredients to remain the star of the dish and made for a much more enjoyable eating experience.
Brazilian Cheese Bread 🥖
As a first-time guest, I was treated to an order of Ubuntu's Brazilian cheese bread paired with house-made jam.
The combination surprised me.
The cheese bread is savory, while the jam adds sweetness, creating a pairing that works beautifully together.
It's easy to understand why guests love it.
Mixed Berry Danish 🫐🍓
Next up was the Mixed Berry Danish.
I requested it warmed slightly, and I'm glad I did.
The pastry was buttery, flaky, and packed with bright berry flavor.
Simple, delicious, and exactly what you want from a well made Danish.
French Toast Latte ☕️
The moment I learned Ubuntu makes their syrups and non dairy milks in-house, I knew I had to try the coffee.
The French Toast Latte was warm, comforting, and beautifully presented with latte art.
It felt like breakfast and dessert wrapped into one delicious cup.
Iced Lavender Coffee
As if one coffee wasn't enough, I also ordered the Iced Lavender Coffee.
Made with house-made lavender syrup and coffee ice cubes, the flavor stayed strong from beginning to end.
Refreshing, floral, slightly sweet, and incredibly enjoyable.
This is the kind of drink I could easily see myself ordering again and again.
Chocolate Pot de Crème 🍫
If I had to choose one item that completely stole the show, it might be the Chocolate Pot de Crème.
Rich dark chocolate mousse topped with whipped cream and crispy chocolate pearls.
Decadent without being overwhelming.
The kind of dessert you think about later and immediately want again.

Their syrups are house-made.
Their non-dairy milks are house-made.

Even the Brazilian cheese bread comes from a family recipe.

Throughout my visit, Octavio, Rafael, and Leah consistently checked in to make sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed.
Even though I was seated in a quieter area of the patio, I never once felt overlooked.

Because it's becoming increasingly rare.
What impressed me most was how natural it all felt.
No one was performing.
No one was forcing friendliness.
The care felt genuine.
It wasn't one person providing exceptional service.

In fact, before I even left, I was already planning a return visit.
After experiencing the quality of the food, the hospitality, and the care that goes into every detail, I'm excited to see what dinner at Ubuntu is like. If breakfast was any indication, I have a feeling I'm in for something special.
