Enchanted Coffee: Why This Santa Ana Coffee Shop Earned a Spot on My Weekly Rotation

When I visit a new coffee shop, I'm looking for more than a great cup of coffee.
I'm paying attention to the atmosphere, the customer service, the food, and how the entire experience makes me feel. Customer service is where I believe businesses either shine or fall flat, and it's often what determines whether I'll come back.
Enchanted Coffee in Santa Ana didn't just meet my expectations, it exceeded them.
First Impressions
Located on 17th Street in Santa Ana, Enchanted Coffee was already buzzing when I arrived around 12:40 p.m. Despite the lunch crowd, I was able to grab one of the outdoor patio seats, which ended up being the perfect place to enjoy the afternoon without sitting directly in the sun.
Inside, the café was clean and thoughtfully designed. Most of the seating consisted of high-top tables and a communal island, with a small corner dedicated to traditional table seating. Being vertically challenged, I happily claimed my seat outside. Throughout my visit, I also noticed several guests enjoying the café with their dogs, which added to the welcoming neighborhood atmosphere.
Hospitality That Makes an Impression
I ordered the Lox Bagel and a lavender oat milk matcha. Wanting a little extra boost, I asked if I could add a single shot of espresso.
Elizabeth smiled and explained that they pull two shots at a time.
Without hesitation I laughed and replied, "I don't want you to dump it," so I happily accepted the double shot instead.
She also let me know my bagel would probably take about 20 to 25 minutes because only two employees were working.
I genuinely appreciated her honesty and told her to take her time.
To my surprise, my food arrived in less than ten minutes.
What I Ordered
Lox Bagel & Dirty Lavender Matcha
Lox Bagel
Served on an everything bagel with:
Smoked salmon
Cream cheese
Arugula
Tomatoes
Red onion
Capers
The bagel arrived whole, allowing me to slice it myself. It was perfectly toasted with just enough crunch while remaining soft inside. The creamy cream cheese balanced the richness of the salmon, while the capers, tomatoes, onion, and arugula added freshness and brightness to every bite.
It was simple, fresh, and incredibly well executed.
Dirty Lavender Matcha
The lavender oat milk matcha paired beautifully with the added espresso. The floral notes remained present without being overpowering, while the espresso added just enough richness to create a smooth, balanced drink I'd gladly order again.
More Than Just Coffee
As I enjoyed my meal, the café became even busier.
People patiently waited in line, found whatever seating was available, or grabbed their drinks to go. What impressed me most wasn't the crowd, it was watching the staff continue serving everyone with kindness and composure.
Despite having only two employees working, the quality of service never declined.
That speaks volumes.
Great hospitality isn't measured by how busy a business becomes; it's measured by how people are treated when it does.
Enchanted Coffee captivated me with exceptional coffee, delicious food, genuine hospitality, and a welcoming atmosphere that made me want to linger just a little longer.
Sometimes the best restaurants and coffee shops aren't the ones with the fanciest décor or the trendiest menu.
They're the places that make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in until long after you've left.
Enchanted Coffee did exactly that.
Will I return?
Absolutely.
In fact, I fully intend to make this my weekly treat.
Meet Me at the Table.
